Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence & Innovation

The Lone Star UAS Center of Excellence & Innovation (LSUASC) was chosen as one of six Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) UAS test sites in the United States. LSUASC is a Texas-wide partnership for research, development, testing and evaluation of UAS technologies led by educational institutions Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi, Texas Engineering Experiment Station, and the Lead Systems Integrator, Camber Corporation bringing UAS to America's skies.

Our mission is to operate for the benefit of advancement and use of unmanned unmanned technologies, specifically UAS technologies across state agency interests; to provide an economic stimulus to attract industry to Texas, while being compliant to the Texas Privacy Act; and to provide the FAA with UAS research, development and operational data to assist in the development of procedures, standards, and regulations to facilitate UAS civil operations into the National Airspace System.

Our Vision
  • Stand Up And Operate a FAA UAS Test Site Designated To Safely Integrate Civil and Public (DoD) Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) Operations Into The National Airspace (NAS).
  • Guide Industry (US and Foreign) through the FAA safety and maturity process required to safely integrate Commercial UAS operations into the NAS.
